Professor Wyglinski gave a workshop presentation at the IDGA Cognitive Radio Summit in Washington DC on the topic of understanding wireless spectrum and its relationship with cognitive radio. His presentation, entitled: “Understanding Wireless Spectrum for Cognitive Radio Transmission” included many of the research activities currently underway at the Wireless Innovation Laboratory.
Furthermore, during the afternoon portion of this conference, Professor Wyglinski led a roundtable discussion with the conference attendees regarding issues surrounding wireless spectrum, including the impact of interference on shared wireless spectrum, different radio technologies for performing secondary wireless access, and the future of cognitive radio networks in dynamic spectrum environments.
The IDGA Cognitive Radio Summit strives to create a forum where actionable discussion and debate can occur between and among attendees and speakers. Several topics discussed at this conference include actions required to facilitate successful adoption of cognitive radio communication, utilizing cognitive radio to provide cutting-edge communication in the military, identifying risks and challenges for Cognitive Radio, identifying and refining radio communication requirements, improving cognitive radio technology, policy and implementation, and defining wireless and networking initiatives.
