Analog Devices’ Software-Defined Radio Transceiver Named a Winner of UBM Tech’s Prestigious Ace Award in Wireless/RF Category
Analog Devices, Inc. announced that its breakthrough software-defined radio (SDR) transceiver technology has been recognized by EE Times and EDN with a 2014 UBM Tech ACE Award in the Wireless/RF Ultimate Product category. Supporting a variety of SDR platforms, the AD9361 RF Agile Transceiver™ was honored at an awards ceremony at The Fairmont San Jose during the EELive! show, where it was chosen by a panel comprised of leading academics, industry executives and content experts. Hands-On Peer Review of a 2014 IEEE DySPAN Paper
Dr. Tom Rondeau, Maintainer of GNU Radio, recently implemented in GNU Radio a spectrally agile waveform approach proposed by a New England industrial/university collaborative effort in a technical paper presented at the 7th IEEE Symposium on New Frontiers in Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks (DySPAN 2014), the leading international conference dedicated to the advancement of cutting-edge dynamic spectrum access network technologies and associated regulatory policies. NI Intros USRP RIO Next-Gen Wireless Prototyping Platform
National Instruments announced an integrated software defined radio solution for rapidly prototyping high-performance, multichannel wireless communication systems. The NI USRP RIO platform is built on the NI LabVIEW RIO architecture and combines a high-performance 2 x 2 multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) RF transceiver capable of transmitting and receiving signals from 50 MHz to 6 GHz with an open LabVIEW programmable FPGA architecture. YateBTS developer Legba and bladeRF creator Nuand have announced a partnership to give access to the 3.5 billion people worldwide with no access to a mobile connection. The partnership brings together Legba’s open source software for 2.5G networks with Nuand’s software defined radio, based on Lime Microsystems’ fully programmable RF transceiver technology.
